Cleaning Your Diffuser

I know, I know – who has time to clean their diffuser. Well, if you read the manual, you are supposed to clean if after every use. Aint nobody got time for that!!

I typically deep clean my diffusers (yes, I have three diffusers – but according to my last post, we aren’t judging, right?) once a week. And I do a quick clean of the inside of the diffuser once a day. I have the diffuser in my bedroom that runs every night, and the diffuser in my office that literally runs everyday all day.

Check out how I do the deep clean and the everyday clean. If you have any issues with your diffuser, you can call customer service for Young Living. If there is a malfunction, they will ask you to send it back and they will send you a new one. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to go without my diffuser for 3 weeks. So let’s not let that happen. Shall we?

What you will need:

  • Thieves Cleaner
  • Toothbrush
  • Rubbing Alcohol

First, put 1 tablespoon of running alcohol in the diffuser and let sit for 5-10 minutes. While thats sitting, start on the tops of the diffuser.

Put the tops in a large bowl with hot water and 1 capful of thieves cleaner. Let those sit for 10-15 minutes.

Use the toothbrush to scrub all of the round edges where all the gross stuff accumulates and scrub the little metal circle on the inside of the diffuser.

Dry them off and you are back in action.

After I clean them, I always throw in Purification and Lemon to make the house smell clean (even if its not). Its all about perception, right?

Hope this helps! Please comment if you have any suggestions of different ways of cleaning your diffusers!!
